In French III/IV, we will build on and further your base of skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing in French. We’ll read from many authentic texts and listen to broadcasts/podcasts in French from around the francophone world. You’ll be assigned readings from French language newspapers, and will be asked to listen to French language radio. We’ll build on your grammar skills, and learn/review all eleven major tenses in the four verb modes. We’ll read le Petit Nicolas, as well as French poetry, short stories, and classical literature from a variety of periods. We’ll useFrench Three Years by Amsco as our grammar text, and will cover a good number of topics in it.
